She comes from a dental family–her dad is a dentist and her mom a hygienist. But practicing dentistry hasn’t stopped her from pursuing her other passion: Olympic-level curling. She hopes to inspire others through her drive and perseverance to reach the highest level in curling while working as a professional dentist. How Oral Health Affects Brain Health with Dental Hygienist Anne O. Rice on Humpday Happy Hour™
Send us Fan Mail We love discussing oral systemic health, so we could not be more excited to chat with Anne O. Rice on this week’s episode👏 Anne will highlight the oral connections with dementia, Alzheimer's and mental longevity. This episode is not just for dental professionals but for EVERYONE! Anne has been a clinical dental hygienist for 35 years and is a speaker, writer, and dental practice consultant who has a special interest in how oral hygiene affects overall health, particularly brain health. She created Oral Systemic Seminars in 2017 and now devotes much of her time, focus and study to dementia prevention. She is a preceptor for the Bale/Doneen method, a Certified Dementia Practitioner and a Longevity Specialist with the Alzheimer’s Research and Prevention Foundation, where she has also developed curriculum. She is a Fellow with The American Academy for Oral Systemic Health and serves on numerous advisory boards. She has a column in RDH magazine about oral systemic health and was a 2024 recipient of Sunstar’s Award of Distinction in the category of research for her 2021 manuscript Alzheimer’s Disease and Oral-Systemic Health for Frontiers. She has recently joined the faculty for The Institute for Functional Dentistry. She’s been included in an International Consortium of a diverse network of brain researchers, clinicians and institutions who support Alzheimer’s prevention.
