Johnson completed his general dental (2010) and prosthodontic training (2013) at the University of Memphis and now practices in Northwest, AR. Along with his specialist certificate, Dr. Johnson earned a post-doctoral master’s degree in dental science researching CAD/CAM restorative techniques and emerging digital dental materials. He maintains certifications by both the American Board of Prosthodontics and the National Board for Dental Laboratory Technology and remains active in dental academics as an adjunct professor with the UTHSC Advanced Prosthodontics Program. Dr. Johnson has been published in multiple scientific dental journals and lectures internationally on a variety of technological developments in dentistry. He consults for a wide range of dental clinicians, suppliers, manufacturers, and developers as a thought leader in surgical and prosthetic technology integrations. Dr. Shah holds a BSc in Microbiology, and MSc in Physiology and graduated from the University of Manitoba Dental School in 1991. He attributes his early investments in CAD/CAM technology to helping to launch his son Mark's interest in computers which later lead to the founding of Facebook. Zuckerberg, D.D.S.,F.A.G.D. is a 1978 Graduate of NYU College of Dentistry. He owned his own practices in Brooklyn and Dobbs Ferry, NY from 1979-2013 and has always been an early adopter of technology, introducing his first PC in the office in 1986 and completely fully networking his home-based office with broadband access in 1996. Dr. Zuckerberg’s early adoption of technologies including digital radiography, CAD/CAM & creation of a paperless office caught the attention of Industry leaders who enlisted him to lecture, write articles and beta test new technologies. The advanced technology in the home helped launch his son, Mark's, the founder of Facebook, interest in computers. Send us Fan Mail Dr. Adamo Notarantonio is a graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine (2002), where he received honors in both removable and fixed prosthodontics. He completed his residency in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program at Stony Brook in 2003, and was chosen by faculty to complete a second year as Chief Resident. Dr. Adamo was accredited by American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry in 2011, and recently received his Fellowship in the AACD. He is the only Accredited Fellow in New York State, and the 80th person worldwide to achieve this honor. He was further honored by the Academy when asked to serve as a consultant and examiner for the Accreditation and Fellowship processes. In 2016, Dr. Adamo was awarded the AACD’s Rising Star Award. Dr. Adamo has been re-elected to serve on the American Board of Cosmetic Dentistry®,is the most recent past chairman of the ABCD, and has recently been appointed the Accreditation Chairman of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Adamo is a graduate of the Kois Center, where he studied under Dr. John Kois. He also has completed The Dawson Academy Core Curriculum. Dr. Adamo has received his fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He has been published in multiple dental journals and lectures nationally and internationally on such topics as CAD/CAM dentistry, implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, composite dentistry and dental photography. You do not want to miss this one! Dr. Marta Revilla-Leónv obtained her PhD in Prosthodontics and Digital Dentistry at The Academisch Centrum Tandheelkunde (ACTA) University in Amsterdam. She obtained her MSD in prosthodontics at the University of Washington in Seattle and a MS in Esthetic Dentistry at the Complutense University of Madrid. Dr. Revilla-León is specialist in digital dentistry with more than 100 publications in peer-reviewed dental journals in the last 4 years related with facial and intraoral scanning methods, virtual patient integration, digital implant scans with photogrammetry systems, polymer, metal, and ceramic additive manufacturing technologies, development of dental devices with Exocad, 3Shape dental systems, blender and artificial intelligence for dental applications. Prior to this position, Dr. Revilla-León has been the assistant program director in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the Texas A&M University in Dallas. Currently, Dr. Revilla is also Affiliate Faculty in the Graduate in Prosthodontic Program at the University of Washington in Seattle and in the Graduate in Prosthodontic Program at Tufts University in Boston.

Dinks with Dr. Justin Chi
Send us Fan Mail If you've never heard from Dr. Justin Chi, then you're in for a treat. This incredible clinician is 'the man behind the scenes' at Glidewell Laboratories. He is also a former dental technician. We've learned so much from Dr. Justin Chi and we hope you will too! About Dr. Chi: Justin received his Bachelor of Science degree in dental laboratory technology from the LSU School of Dentistry, and earned his CDT in crown and bridge in 2007. After undergrad, he moved to Dallas, TX and began operating a dental lab out of his apartment and also worked as a CAD/CAM trainer at D4D Technologies. After witnessing the effects same-day restorations had on dentists and their patients, it sparked his interest to pursue clinical dentistry. Shortly after graduating from the USC School of Dentistry in 2015, Justin joined Glidewell where he provides guidance and feedback for the R&D, engineering and software teams; supports the lab when new processes or workflows are being implemented; create educational content through the various Glidewell channels; and provide courses and education for all users of the glidewell in-office milling solution.

Send us Fan Mail Let's demystify TMD management and surgical intervention! Join Chad, JB, and Jeff with their guest, Dr. Brian Shah as he shares his journey and methodology in TMD management. Dr. Brian S. Shah was born in Chicago, Illinois and grew up outside of Cleveland, Ohio. He did his undergraduate studies at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where he majored in microbiology and received his Bachelor of Arts in 1996. Dr. Shah then completed dental school at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry where he received the Arden K. Hegtvedt research scholarship in the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Shah was lucky enough to do his research with the late Dr. Larry Peterson. During his time at Ohio State, he was also named a Hinman Scholar which was awarded in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Shah continued his studies and received his MD from Harvard Medical School in 2003. He did his General Surgery and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residencies in the Harvard system. This included rotations at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston Children’s Hospital, The Brigham and Women’s Hospital, The Beth Israel Hospital and The Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. In 2008 Dr. Shah received his Board Certification by The American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Shah was in academic practice at Yale and maintained a private practice in Chicago prior to joining Dr. Piper. The motivation to join and learn from Dr. Piper was born out of the goal to provide the highest level of care for patients with maxillofacial disharmony and TMJ disorders. The interplay between the joints, the bite and the face cannot be ignored and treating one without addressing the others can lead to sub optimal results. Dr. Shah underwent orthognathic surgery as a sophomore in college and has experienced firsthand how life changing properly executed surgery can be. Dr. Shah’s practice is devoted to TMJ surgery and facial reconstruction. By utilizing 3D CT imaging, intra-oral 3D scanning and CAD/CAM technology, Dr. Shah can diagnose and treat facial deformities with unparalleled accuracy. He invites the patient to be part of the treatment planning session which is essential to the co-discovery process. By educating patients on their condition and available treatment options, he has found anxiety can be minimized. Dr. Shah offers procedures such as custom facial implants, Botox and fillers to “touch-up” anything that cannot be accomplished with orthognathic surgery alone. Dr. Shah is teaching faculty for AO. The AO was founded on November 6, 1958 by a group of Swiss surgeons to champion revolutionary techniques of internal fixation for bone fractures. As faculty, Dr. Shah volunteers his time to teach surgical residents and practicing doctors the AO principles of trauma surgery. His professional affiliations include the American Medical Association, the American Dental Association, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Association of Cosmetic Surgery and the AO.
