Send us Fan Mail What a fun episode with an amazing clinician and human, Dr. Tom Dudney. We cover esthetic dentistry, philanthropic endeavors and the growth journey of a professional. Thomas E. Dudney, DMD is a 1977 graduate of University of Alabama in Birmingham School of Dentistry. He has served in the past as the Clinical Director for the Aesthetic Advantage hands-on programs taught by Dr. Larry Rosenthal at New York University and the Eastman Dental Clinic in London. Presently he is the clinical director of the Pacific Aesthetic Continuum (PAC) hands-on programs. In addition to teaching hands-on programs, he has presented workshops and lectures at dental meetings and has authored several articles on aesthetic and restorative dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Alabama Dental Association, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He is also a fellow of the American Society for Dental Aesthetics and a Diplomate of the American Board of Aesthetic Dentistry as well as a member of Catapult Speakers Bureau. Dr. Brett Kessler - President Elect ADA with Dentists in the Know
Send us Fan Mail Dr. Brett Kessler, a dentist in Denver, Colo., is the new President-Elect of the American Dental Association (ADA). Dr. Kessler has been an active volunteer leader and member of the ADA for 26 years. Since 2019, Dr. Kessler has represented the 14th District on the ADA Board of Trustees, and he has chaired several ADA committees, including the Diversity and Inclusion Committee, the Audit Committee and the Science and Research Institute, on which he is currently serving his second term. Dr. Kessler’s vast ADA leadership involvement also extends to the House of Delegates, the Dental Wellbeing Advisory Committee and the Council of Dental Benefit Programs, where he was Vice Chair. Additionally, he has served as a Board of Trustees Liaison to the Council on Advocacy for Access and Prevention, Council of Communications and Council on Dental Practice. He was also awarded the Golden Apple award for “Outstanding Leadership in Mentoring” in 2010, which is the highest award bestowed from the ADA. Dr. Kessler is also involved in numerous other organizations, including the Metropolitan Denver Dental Society, the Colorado Prosthodontic Society, the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy and the Colorado Dental Association Foundation, where he was a Founding Chair. He served as president of the Colorado Dental Association from 2014-2015, and prior to his term, he held a plethora of other leadership roles within the organization. Dr. Kessler graduated from the University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry and completed his General Practice Residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. He has a wide variety of practice modalities, including hospital setting, employee dentist, practice owner in a fee-for-service startup, chief dental officer at a Dental Support Organization and currently practices in a restorative Preferred Provider Organization. Dr. Kessler has been an educator at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine and University of Michigan. A national wellness and leadership speaker, he is also a five-time Ironman triathlete, ultra-marathoner and avid trail runner. In addition to his work as a clinician, he has been involved with volunteer organizations which promote substance abuse advocacy and wellbeing. What a super cool interview with an incredible cool person! Dr. Tanya Sue Maestas was born and raised in El Paso, TX. She attended dental school at the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston. She graduated in 2018 and completed an AEGD residency in 2019. During dental school, she became involved in organized dentistry and served in various leadership roles including President of the American Student Dental Association. After graduating, she returned to El Paso and practices outside of the city at La Clinica de Familia (FQHC) where she serves as a Dental Director for the site. She also serves as a part-time faculty member at the Woody L Hunt School of Dental Medicine. She was recently named the Texas New Dentist of the Year. She has continued her involvement in organized dentistry by serving in numerous roles with organizations including the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Hispanic Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Texas Academy of General Dentistry, and the El Paso District Dental Society. She is an alumnus of the American Dental Association Institute for Diversity in Leadership and was recognized as one of the American Dental Association 10 under 10 recipients & one of Incisal Edge 40 under 40 dentists. She is passionate in providing care to underserved communities and seeks to help close the gap in barriers to care. Dr. Jeff Bonk of Spear Education with the DINKS
Send us Fan Mail With more than three decades of dental experience, Dr. Bonk is devoted to sharing his knowledge and skills of advanced restorative dentistry. He joined Spear in 2009 as a member of the Anterior Live Patient Faculty and now serves as an instructor in the 'Restorative Design' workshop. He lectures nationally about advanced restorative dentistry. Early in his career, Dr. Bonk provided advanced training in the dental specialties of periodontics, oral surgery, and prosthetics, as well as training in hospital medicine and treatment of medically compromised patients during a one-year residency at the Loyola University Medical Center. Dr. Bonk works with graduate dentists once per month in the General Practice Residency Program at Loyola Hospital in Maywood, Illinois. Additionally, he lectures locally and nationally about advanced restorative dentistry.
